Flush goes the baby

http://news.yahoo.com/no-charge-against-chinese-mother-baby-sewer-034959757.html

I'm sure all of you remember reading this one a few weeks back. And how the mother was not charged for anything when they found the baby in the sewer pipes below a toilet. I don't understand how the baby could have made it into the toilet and down into the system if the baby was not actually flushed. I also don't understand how the mother could not be charged with anything because she didn't even report the baby was down there!

Id like to think that if that happened here in America things would have happened a little differently. I would hope that they wouldn't give the child back to the obviously unstable mother, and that the mother would serve some time in jail. I'm sorry but if I had happened to have gave birth while sitting on a toilet and my kid got stuck I would be screaming bloody murder and calling 911 and every other number I could possibly think of to get my baby the hell out of there, not going off and doing whatever till somebody hopefully finds my kid and then step forward like oh yeah that's mine I totally forgot that my kid got stuck down there.

Like WTF!? There are just a bunch of idiots out there I guess, and somehow this is ok what the mother did because she was scared? So that's kind of making it seem like you can do something like this to a kid and just say you were scared? What's next a parent is going to almost beat their kid to death but say oh I was angry and everyone be like oh well that's ok. It may not be the same thing initially but your setting the groundwork for excuses like that. Then where is the line drawn between ok and not ok? I just think this whole thing is a bunch of bullshit and she should be charged with neglect or something. What a bunch of crap!
