Is there really any surprise as to why I wouldn't want to read or watch the news? Every time I turn it on or read it on my computer its all bad. Obviously they get more ratings for posting bad news but I am so tired of hearing all this horrible stuff!
Sometimes I can't help but read it when it is flashing across my screen as soon as I turn on the internet. But is it just me or is the news getting worse? I understand with more people in the world more crime is going to happen but that is not the only thing that's happening! Don't you think watching the news with all those horrible stories is bringing more negativity into our lives? Why would anyone care if they kill someone else since obviously our world has already gone to shit anyways, some may even rationalize that they are doing that person a favor. And how sick is it that in a way they could be right.
I mean look at the people who are supposed to be protecting us. They cant even keep criminals locked up! Two have just walked out of prison in the last month, and one of them has done this for the second time! Our justice system is bullshit. Sure we are able to put many criminals away, but if you murder someone how could it be possible that you are ever released back into the public? If you rape people how could you be free after facing a sentence of a few years?
Wouldn't you just want to do it all over again because you have so much pent up anger from sitting in a small cell for twenty years or so? -Like that guy who burnt down the house and killed the firefighters after he was released from jail who said he did it because he was good at killing people. Do you really think that couldn't have been prevented? Um yes it could have! Give him the fucking electric chair so he cant kill anyone and our tax dollars don't have to pay for his sorry ass!
I never turn on the news on purpose or click the internet hoping to read the news stories because I know it will be more bad then good. And what is the point of reading it when I know exactly what will be there each time-more death. And I am the type of person who obsesses over my kids safety so reading anything that could make me question their safety is not good. And I wish the news people saw how much their stories are damaging our society. Obviously we should not hide from the bad but there is just as much good happening as bad but nobody would know that because nobody remembers the good, only the bad.
So until the news shows start broadcasting more positively they won't get a follower out of me.
